The BCS is irrelevant.... for now

With Oregon's loss last night, The Big 12 now controls their own destiny.  The number 2, 3, and 4 teams in the BCS are Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri.  The good news about this is that they each control their own destiny.  Kansas and Missouri play in a couple weeks, followed by the Big 12 championship game in which OU should play the winner of the Kansas-Missouri game.  It is very likely that the winner of the Big 12 Championship will end up ranked number 2, meaning that they will have the opportunity to play LSU for the national championship.

The BCS is lucky that Oregon lost, avoiding immediate controversy on which team deserves to be number 2.  We get to see how all of this plays out shortly, Boomer Sooner!

The BCS, what does the C stand for?

It's that time again, another November, and more college football BCS controversy.  The argument is made every year that a tournament is needed to determine the best team.  A quick look at the top 4 teams reveals that this year is no different.

Who is number 1?

• Kansas is undefeated
  
• Oklahoma has one loss that occured on a game-winning field goal
• LSU has one loss that occured in triple-overtime
• Oregon has one loss that occured from a one yard short touchdown drive.

The top 4 teams appear to be even, one has an easier schedule and undefeated record, the next three have one loss that occured at the end of a very close game.  No matter which two teams are chosen for the national championship, two teams that are deserving will be left out.

When will they give the fans the tournament that the sport deserves.
